WHAT IS APPLICANT TRACKING?

Our Commitment To Quality

An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is a software application or system, which enables electronic handling of corporate recruitment needs. Most applicant tracking systems include a corporate careers site, or functionality known as eRecruitment. Applicant tracking systems not only allow for job posting onto a corporate careers site (typical eRecruitment systems), but also cross-posting of job advertisements onto selected job boards, as well as powerful applicant tracking and hiring management tools to control the recruitment process and manage your talent more effectively and efficiently.

A careers site typically bolts onto your corporate website and allows the respective company to post job vacancies onto their own website in order to attract candidates and improve the efficiency of sourcing talent. This careers site is usually called a corporate careers site and any candidates may apply for specific job vacancies or submit their CV to the company in general.

The applicant tracking software solution stores this application and candidate data inside a CV database, allowing for effective searching, filtering and routing of candidate applications. It is estimated that approximately 50% of all mid-sized companies and nearly all large corporations use some form of an applicant tracking system.

Applicant tracking systems utilize powerful functionality of robust databases in order to catalog information on candidates and the disposition of their candidacy. Applicant tracking systems have replaced the inefficient filing of paper based systems and brought efficiency to part of the recruiting process.

Applicant tracking systems that are designed for recruiting and staffing firms differ somewhat from those designed for a corporate human resources orientation. The recruiting applications usually include more robust reporting tools, and comprehensive tools for contact management and client and candidate management. These additional functions make them ideal for contract staffing firms and firms with a high employee turnover.

Applicant tracking system software is a subset of Talent Management System (TMS) software applications, being very popular in the ASP or Software as a Service (SaaS) model. The term Talent Management is used to describe a new way of thinking about how to source, retain, develop, deploy and engage people in organisations.

Talent management technology is a set of tools available enabling effective talent management in organizations. The training for end users is a key process for project success, as are appropriate reporting metrics and the testing of important functionality
